Keys to Success

I have been thinking about what success is and what it means to different people. Here are some things that help us be successful in whatever we pursue.

  1. Clarity: Eighty percent of success comes from being clear on who you are, what you believe in and what you want.

  1. Competence: You can't climb to the next rung on the ladder until you are excellent at what you do now.

  1. Constraints: Eighty percent of all obstacles to success come from within. Find out what is constraining in you or your company and deal with it.

  1. Concentration: The ability to focus on one thing single-mindedly and see it through until it's done takes more character than anything else.
Creativity:  Flood you life with ideas from many sources.  Creativity needs to be exercised like a muscle.

    1. Courage: Most in demand and least in supply, courage is the willingness to do the things you know are right.

    1. Continuous learning: Read, at the very least, one book a week on business to keep you miles ahead of the competition. And just as you eat and bathe, organize your time so you spend 30 minutes a day exploring email, sending messages, going through websites, because like exercise, it's the only way you can keep on top of technology

Studies of high achievers have shown that no matter how different their personalities, work habits, occupations or gender, the people who accomplish great things in life have visualized and expected success all along. They've had the ability to vividly picture their achievements and to reassure themselves in the face of long odds that they would come through. To visualize the person you want most to become, set aside some time this week in which you can create an atmosphere conducive to re-affirming your life dreams. You may want to be near the ocean, or a lake, or in a park, in a garden or in the woods. Or you might just sit quietly by yourself in a comfortable lounge or chair. Get yourself in the mood for visualizing. When the left hemisphere of the brain is quiet and relaxed, the mind is most receptive to creative inputs. To facilitate this you may want to use soothing recorded music, preferably slow and inspiring, such as Bach, Handel or Vivaldi if you like classical music, or soft, popular instrumentals from epic movies or other mood music. Once you're properly relaxed and optimistic, let your mind focus on who you really want to become. Visualize the future in two time frames: five years from now and ten years from now. First, design a day in your life five years from now. Who are you five years from now? Where are you professionally and geographically? On Monday mornings, where do you go? What are you doing, seeing, feeling and thinking? Who are the people around you? What's different about your life five years from now? Next, project ahead ten years from today. Picture a film of your life at that time. Who is watching it with you? What dramatic moments are depicted by that film? What personal triumphs are revealed? What obstacles are courageously overcome? Don't be shy! The purpose of this exercise is to load visualized software in your mental computer. Just as a computer must be configured to accept specific materials, your mind must be prepared to accept the reality of your greater success. By introducing positive images of goal achievement, you're preparing yourself to translate those goals into reality. I especially like to visualize myself being introduced at a dinner in my honor. Maybe it's the Coaches' Hall of Fame! Don't laugh! It could happen! The emcee comes to the microphone and reads the highlights of my life and adds some insights as to who I really am. What would the emcee be saying about you if such a dinner were held in your honor ten years from now? Devote a page in your journal to describing the things you would want said about you. This visualization will put you on a path that leads to your future self that you vividly picture today! www.fraserstirling.co.nz

What are you thinking?

I have been thinking and identifying goals for 2011 and was reminded on the importance of what we think about.

First of all, you must realize that we create our own reality! This has been said by every great spiritual leader, metaphysician, leading-edge scientist, and non-physical entity. Also, we must realize that nobody can do it for us, only you and I create our reality! This is an essential metaphysical principle.

Once we understand this, the first thing we'll want to know is how we can consciously create a "better" reality for ourself. The answer is through the law of attraction. The Law of attraction is the Universal Law through which we create our reality. It is the same for everyone, it doesn't matter what race we are or what our current financial status is. If an average rich person and an average poor person both jump off a building, they will both hit the ground. This is the law of gravity. The law of attraction works the same way.

I've come to understand the Law of Attraction as thoughts are very powerful things, and every thought attracts to you that thing which you are thinking about. It doesn't matter whether you consciously want that thing or not. Another way to put this is you become what you think about, or thoughts become reality. If this is your first time hearing this, it may come as a shock. But the law of attraction is evident everywhere. For example, the people who speak most about abundance of money are usually wealthy, the people who speak most of health and wellness are usually healthy.

The law of attraction only attracts things, it does not repel what you do not want. So if you are constantly thinking about what you do not want, you are still attracting that. So if you are focusing on preventing illness, you are actually attracting illness. Instead focus on health and wellness, since this is what you really want.

Now you may be thinking why don't thoughts manifest instantly. This is actually a very good thing, it is a buffering effect. You would not want to be in a reality where your thoughts manifest instantly. If you were watching a scary movie then you would instantly manifest that thing into your life. This is why the Law of Attraction only attracts what you focus on over a period of time.

You may also be thinking that it is going to be very hard to monitor and control all your thoughts. The beautiful thing is that you do not have to, because we are born with a wonderful guidance system called emotions. Your emotions are created by your thoughts and beliefs (we will get into these a little later). There are only really two types of emotions: good ones and bad ones. We give these all sorts of names, but they can be classified as either good or bad. If you are experiencing a good emotion then you are attracting that which is in line with what you want. If you are experiencing bad emotions, then you are attracting that which you do not want. So basically, to create the life of your dreams all you must do is feel good, and you will attract the perfect life for you!

To immediately put this law to work for you:

# Identifly exactly what you want (be clear about it)

# Expect Universe/God/Spirit to answer

# The Universe always knows the best way to your goal. Therefore it is best if you do not create the strategy to achieve your goal, instead let the Universe bring it to you

# Be grateful, as if you have already recieved what you wanted

# Allow yourself to have what it is you want, by feeling that you have it (even if you don't!)

Remember, if you follow these steps correctly, the Universe/God/Spirit must bring that which you wanted into your life, it is LAW!

Now you can begin to consciously create your reality and make sure that you wish and think great things into existence for 2011.

Till next time.

Water Crystals

I was reminded of the research of Dr Masaru Emoto and his investigation in regards to the fact that positive printed words had an impact on distilled water. Humans are made up from 90% water. Therefore what impact do words have on us? What thoughts do we allow to remain in our mind?
Every day we have experiences that are nutural. The only thing that makes them positive and or negative are our responces to it. Emoto's research shows that when we allow positive things to enter our mind our being changes.
Today I choose to focus in on what I am in the process of becoming.

Interesting reading

I came across a piece of literature that contained an idea that changed my life. It explained that every thing around us that has been made by human beings is the expression of an idea, and that you and I have the ability to create ideas. Think about it, every company, regardless of how large it may be, is nothing but the expression of a single idea that was once in the mind of one person. Unfortunately with most people their ideas are still born. They never breathe the stuff of life into them.

What a thought? To die without knowing what we could acomplish in our life....This is our day. We need to take steps towards our dreams an goals daily.

Decision

I have been watching Beyond the Secret over the past week. It is quite different from the Secret. However it continues to build on the great series. The group discuss the importance of visualising and then they highlight the fact that we must take action on our goals. They wont happen by merely thnking. However if we take one step each day we have begun on the journey.
